He’s a giant man of a few, very direct words. But if you need a gate keeper to defend the core of Cybertron, then Omega Supreme is the robot you call. As a Transformers fanboy this absolutely has to be one of my favourite boss fights of all time on the PS3 and this is why. No matter which faction of Transformers you sided with, be it the heroic Autobots or the villainous Decepticons, every TF fan from my generation couldn’t help but cheer when Omega made his appearance on screen in the original Transformers animated series. Like Andre the Giant, he was a little slow and dumb, but boy did he pack an enormous punch. I’m talking about able to shatter a mountainside type of punch. No other Transformer had such incredible strength which is why Omega was the Autobots’ last line of defense. When energon hit the fan Omega Supreme would turn the tide each and every time and send the Decepticons back from whence they came. Now he wasn’t in every episode. In fact, you never were quite sure if and when he was going to show up, but when he did it was always thrilling to watch.
But let’s put the Saturday morning cartoon aside for a moment because as great as it was to see the almighty Omega Supreme as a child back then, it’s one million times better to see him now in full 720p HD. Omega Supreme has never looked better and it’s a dream come true being able to, not only see, but fight against this formidable friend turned foe. The fact that High Moon Studios put Omega Supreme in their superior, by far, Transformers game tells me that they truly understand the franchise and know what we, as fans want in a TF game. But I’ll spare you my Transformers: War For Cybertron review. You can go to IGN for that. I’ve taken this big guy down a few times and just because I love you all so very much I’m going to share with you how I did it, Tony (Who’s the Boss) Danza style! These are my best practices. Are you ready?
First and foremost, if there is a Decepticon God you better pray to him! Because when you go toe to toe with Omega Supreme you’re going to need some divine intervention. Remember the story of David and Goliath?
Like Optimus Prime always says, transform and roll out! Keep moving no matter what. Don’t let Omega get a lock on you. Especially with his heat seeking missiles.
Blast those turrets like a mofo!
Don’t be stingy! Use your dark energon to corrupt his system. Seriously. The guy can crush mountains. This is no time to fight fair. Use every trick up your metal sleeves!
Take out his annoying reinforcements! They might have the vantage point, but don’t let them get the drop on you.
Avoid Omega’s tracktor beam! Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Lastly, when his chest cavity is exposed give it everything you got!
That’s it Micromasters. Those are the rules of engagement for defeating Mr. Supreme himself. I’ll have much more let’s plays to share from the Transformers: War For Cybertron series. The series is a definite must play in my PS3 backlog of games to beat. Until then please keep checking back for more of my featured PlayStation gaming videos.
Logging off. Omega Supreme, defeated. Gaming Worker, Out.
